Laboratory Assistant Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The Laboratory Assistant technician duties involve the Laboratories and the various Process of the Departments of the Brewery which include Cold Stores and Bottling Hall.The responsibilities include monitoring of Process Parameters, ensuring that they conform to correct process specifications. It also involves ensuring that the maintenance of good discipline, sound hygienic process and correct procedures in the workplace.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Carry out routine checks in the Laboratory, Brew House, Cold Stores and Bottling Hall during processing of all products.
• Immediately report to the Quality Assurance Manager or Brewer results that are outside of the specification range.
• Take corrective action where you are authorized to make such corrective action.
• Ensure that all Bottling Hall equipment is properly prepared for punctual startup of bottling.
• Ensure that all relevant Laboratory checks are carried out in a timely fashion and these results are logged as they are completed.
• Ensure that all Bright Beer Vessels (BBV) are checked for relevant parameters before authorizing the bottling of the particular product.
• Carry out other duties assigned to you by the Quality Assurance Manager.                                                  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• At least an associate degree in a related field.
• At least one (1) years’ experience in a similar environment.  
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Perform all work ethically and accurately to exceed the laboratory standard of quality.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
• Must be able to work on a shift basis.
