Plant Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for establishing and maintaining Preventative Maintenance and conditioned based systems to ensure cost effective maintenance of all Plant and Machinery.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Ensures that employees are kept up to date with and adhere to Company and departmental policies.
- Periodically reviews and appraises the performance of each immediate subordinate and recommends remedial action if necessary.
- Identifies areas of training required for Bottling Hall Maintenance personnel.
- Maintains all Bottling Hall operating equipment on the plant in serviceable condition and schedules needed repair work (whether in-house or contract), so as to interfere least with production.
- Assists in the implementation and upkeep of an effective, predictive and preventative maintenance schedule for Bottling Hall equipment.
- Maintains proper records concerning equipment repair, history and manuals.
- Designs and supervises installations or modifications of plant equipment or systems, in keeping with vendor recommendations and proper engineering practices.
- Determines the standards of performance for projects undertaken by the Bottling Hall Maintenance Department and inspects the results of such work to ensure conformity to those standards and specifications.
- Plans for and provides an adequate supply of and ensures control over spare parts and other maintenance supplies.
- Assists in preparation of an annual budget, anticipating the needs of the Bottling Hall Department.
- Approves invoices for payment of items connected with repair, modification, construction and installation projects.
- Plans and makes recommendations to the Departmental Manager, concerning changes in the organization, personnel, equipment and facilities requirements of the Department.
- Responds to breakdowns/failure calls outside normal working hours as per the policy of the department.
- Ensures that work areas are maintained in accordance with good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Performs any other related duties required by the job function.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any other relevant software.
- Effective leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to prepare and deliver concise and informative reports.
- Effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses Time Management skills.
- Ability to comprehend technical documents.
- Must be able to operate and troubleshoot equipment.
