Accountant - Barbados

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our ANSA McAL Barbados Limited team. In this role, you will ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant preparation, review, and processing of financial information. You will provide key insights and support to management and company officers, helping drive informed business decisions and strengthen our financial operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process monthly financial statements and reconciliations, ensuring accurate month-end close.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets and performance reporting.
  • Manage the Year-End Audit process, including preparing and coordinating audit schedules, responding to queries, and preparing financial statements.
  • Prepare, review and process corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory submissions for compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and process journals, including those for Joint Ventures.
  • Prepare, review and approve vendor invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions to ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, collections, reconciliations and customer queries,
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information and support to the Management Team.
  • Ensure compliance with Group processes and policies as outlined in the ANSA McAL Blue Book.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • ACCA or CPA qualification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
