Team Lead - Mortgages

POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Lead of Mortgages will assist in overseeing the strategic direction, and operational management of the mortgage department and growth of the mortgage portfolio. This role requires a strong background in mortgage operations, business development and team management. The Team Lead will work closely with the Business Development Officers (BDOs) to ensure seamless execution of mortgage services and drive the achievement of departmental goals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist in the development and implementation of the strategic plan to enhance mortgage services, drive revenue growth and increase market share.
• Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes and best practices in mortgage services.
• Assist in setting clear goals and objectives for the mortgage department and monitor progress to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective strategies for attracting potential clients.
• Utilize data analytics tools to track performance metrics, identify trends and provide insights to senior management.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, real estate agents, attorneys and other stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop Business Development Officers, ensuring that they have the tools, resources and support needed to succeed.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly mortgage status reports, including accounts in arrears, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in mortgage operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
