JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent will be responsbile for implementing marketing strategies and objectives for all brands with the aim of expanding the commercial position of products and ensuring that profits exceed budget. This role will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the Division’s strategic planning process.
  • Develops Brand Plans in accordance with the Divisions strategic plan
  • Focuses on obtaining the stated objectives.
  • Continuously monitors Brand performance to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Evaluates Promotional activities to determine the effectiveness of promotional efforts and determine appropriate improvements needed.
  • Conducts consumer reviews and assesses the competition to ensure that Brand maintains market share.
  • Monitors and controls marketing budgets to provide updates on expenses by brand and for plan adjustments.
  • Manages cross-functional relationships of distribution, production and purchasing to ensure that there is symmetry.
  • Manage relationships amongst direct reports to ensure symmetry, cohesion and optimum effectiveness in the execution of their duties.
  • Provides insights into advertising and similar agencies on the design and execution of advertising and public relations campaigns and monitors the development, implementation and evaluation of such campaigns.
  • Develops and maintains a consultative communication system with marketing personnel and subordinate team members for the purpose of reviewing operating policies, plans, and personnel performance related problems and initiate creative solutions to address/correct identified deficiencies.
  • Contributes to overall team efforts by developing and maintaining harmonious working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sets performance objectives of subordinate staff and identify training and development needs.
  • Advice guides, instructs and directs subordinate staff in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be required by the function.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing/management
  • Post graduate or Higher Diploma e.g. CIM or LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce & Industry)
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Marketing and/or Sales Brand Management.
