JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent will be responsible for the execution of duties geared towards the continued operation of Utility Systems within safe, efficient & economical parameters, to achieve optimal Brewery wide production goals.

The Utilities Operation Technician II reports to the Utilities Operation Technician I

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Operate all equipment used to provide utilities for Brewery wide operations. 
•    Open and close wastewater treatment infeed systems as and when needed. 
•    Record and analyze Utilities process data, and directly interact with the process systems, to maintain optimal operation, within establish parameters. 
•    Execute corrective actions whenever quantity or quality standards of supplied utilities are outside of operational parameters or hinders/stops normal Brewhouse or Packaging functions. 
•    Complete utility sampling routines, perform relevant chemical analyses and record their values and/or quality.
•    6Account for and record any utility supply outage that led to lost production time at the Brewhouse and/or Packaging. 
•    Maintain chemical dosing systems to prevent related systems stoppages and perform troubleshooting of utilities processes and equipment. 
•    Execute all operationally required adjustments to Utility equipment/system and run repairs (autonomous maintenance). 
•    Record all completed autonomous maintenance – cleaning, inspection, lubrication (greasing and topping of oil) and tightening (CILT) – actions via the current maintenance recording system. 
•    Request corrective (incidental), shutdown maintenance, breakdown maintenance services via established systems. 
•    Complete property maintenance services request via established systems. 
•    Execute all required safety related documentation, safety checks and system preparation for; breakdown maintenance repairs, non-breakdown utilities site tasks and preventive maintenance checks. 
•    Generate JHA’s as and when needed and complete all required post maintenance checks and documentation, provide shift reports and record data collection on schedule. 
•    Comply with the C.D.C Health, Safety & Environmental Management System e.g. UC/UB’s, permit to work systems, LOTO and reporting of accidents/incidents. 
•    Maintain physical grooming and consistent use of standard C.D.C Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g. but not limited to full-face respirator, safety helmet, safety glasses and C.D.C issued work apparel. 
•    Execute with the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and HAZWOPER, any measures required to stop or mitigate the accidental release of toxic or non-toxic fluids. 
•    Maintain all tools and devices utilized, or in standby for use, and immediately report any defect that they may have.
•    Maintain protocol regarding loitering and restricted entry to Utilities areas, and promptly report and record all instances of unauthorized entry at Utilities restricted areas. 
•    Complete all assigned Utility equipment cleaning (as per established schedules) and general Utilities site housekeeping. 
•    Interact with activities geared towards improving the Brewery’s Key Performance Indicators. 
•    Participate in all mandated training. 
•    Perform any other related duties required by the job function

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Maintenance Technicians Diploma (or equivalent) or Process Plant Operator Diploma (or equivalent) from a recognized University 
•    At least three (3) years Process Plant Operation experience 
•    Equivalent combination of education and experience

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
•    Proficient with basic hand tools 
•    Functionally computer literate 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•    Knowledge of HSE requirements within a Utilities Process environment 
•    S.T.O.W training and practical experience required 
•    Certified HAZWOPER training 
•    Knowledge of Lock Out – Tag Out routines for mechanical, electronic & electrical system.
