JOB SUMMARY
To ensure and facilitate improvements in operational activities that are impacted by mistakes, accidents, manpower, costs, lead/process times, spare requirements, housekeeping standards and inventory.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts start of Shift Meetings with team members, documents and maintains standard format records from this meeting and acts upon concerns raised in a timely manner.
- Reports on concerns raised at the Start of Shift Meeting, and the corrective actions taken to the Assistant Manager at the end of the Shift Meeting.
- Investigates internal customer complaints.
- Records, reviews and improves the key departmental output standards, which will be determined in conjunction with the Assistant Warehouse Manager, e.g. standards of carton stitching.
- Liaises with Quality Control team regarding receivables, damaged materials etc.
- Records, reviews and improves employee attendance.
- Engages in recruitment activities to assess and select new team members.
- Conducts and ensures employee training and development.
- Monitors and manages employee leave and attendance.
- Prepares work instructions/flow charts, etc. for departmental processes
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or a similar technical subject.
- Previous experience is an asset but not considered necessary.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Supervisory Skills,
- Knowledge of Quality Management Tools including process flow diagrams, statistical process control, etc.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
