Position Summary

The Quality Certifier has an integral role and responsibility for ensuring the Company’s glass products and associated services meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability and performance. Primarily, the incumbent performs all necessary activities required to assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements such as ISO, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety and HACCP.

Key Duties

1. Complete daily shift Production Audits which includes but it is not limited to review of production data, independent testing and analysis and sampling of production lots in accordance to ensure that agreed acceptable quality limits are met.

2. Report non-conformances on shift to designate mitigate production risks  to prevent defective ware from reaching the Finished Goods Warehouse. 

3. To conduct generated specific production audits for International Customers (Heineken and Ambinbev) to ensure customer specific requirements are met and enforced throughout production runs. To report and document any non-conformances that may arise from these audits to Shift Supervisor immediately upon detection for Correction.

4. To conduct periodic sampling of Finished Goods pallets in the Cold End in accordance to ISO 2859 Sampling Plans to ensure that AQL's are met and to provide assurance on the lots produced per shift.

5. To provide support and assistant to the Quality Engineer through sampling plans so that the Quality Engineer can make informed decisions through data analytics to release production batches.

6. To validate through objective data that the Internal Critical Defect Protocol is sufficiently instated when a Critical Defect is found within the Process and all controls meets the relevant requirements to mitigate against risk of critical defects in the Finished Goods Pallet.

Training and Experience

• • National Engineering Technician Diploma in Science or Engineering and/or equivalent training in Quality for the Manufacturing Sector
  • One (1) year work experience
  • Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Technician, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
  • Glass product or glass industry-specific experience
