JOB SUMMARY

 

The Group Internal Audit Senior is responsible for executing risk-based internal audit assignments across the Group to evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes. The role supports the achievement of organizational objectives by providing independent assurance and identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve operational effectiveness, and mitigate business risks.

 

The incumbent is responsible for leading audit fieldwork, conducting control assessments, performing testing procedures, and supporting risk assessments in accordance with established audit methodologies, professional standards, and the approved audit plan. The role requires the ability to assess complex business processes, identify control deficiencies and emerging risks, and adjust audit procedures as necessary to address issues identified during the course of audit engagements.

 

In addition, the Senior Group Internal Auditor contributes to the development of meaningful audit insights and recommendations by analyzing findings, evaluating root causes, and assessing the potential impact of identified risks on business operations. The role works closely with stakeholders and process owners to communicate audit results, support corrective action planning, and promote continuous improvement across the Group.

 

The position requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with strong audit, risk assessment, and communication skills, as well as the ability to exercise sound professional judgment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality audit engagements in a dynamic business environment.

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Plan and execute risk-based audits to evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls across the Group.
  • Conduct risk assessments, process walkthroughs, control testing, and audit fieldwork to identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and emerging risks.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate, complete, and well-supported audit documentation in accordance with approved methodologies, professional standards, and Internal Audit requirements.
  • Ensure audit conclusions and recommendations are supported by sufficient and appropriate evidence.
  • Develop clear audit findings, identify root causes and risk implications, and provide practical recommendations to improve controls and business processes.
  • Prepare and communicate audit reports and observations to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned audit engagements and work plans to ensure audits are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and execution discipline.
  • Build effective relationships with management and key stakeholders to facilitate audit activities and promote constructive discussions on risks and controls.
  • Maintain open, professional, and independent communication throughout the audit lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance audit methodologies, processes, tools, and the use of data analytics to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen the overall Internal Audit function.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to auditors and review work to ensure compliance with audit standards and quality expectations.

  • Monitor and validate the implementation of management action plans and conduct follow-up reviews to ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
  • Track and report on outstanding audit issues and associated risks.
  • Identify recurring themes, systemic control weaknesses, and emerging risks across the Group and provide insights to support risk-based decision-making and audit planning.
  • Support and conduct special reviews, investigations, and ad hoc assignments, including the assessment of control failures, irregularities, and other high-risk matters.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline required.
  • Professional certification in Internal Audit, Information Systems Audit, Fraud Examination, Risk Management, or Accounting is required or actively being pursued.
  • Holding or progressing toward certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of progressive Internal Audit experience within a corporate, professional services, financial services, manufacturing, distribution, or multi-business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate risks, assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls, and identify opportunities to strengthen governance and control environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis, interpret complex data, and develop meaningful insights to support risk-based decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly and confidently communicate.
