Job Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving operational excellence by identifying, implementing, and sustaining process improvements across the business. The role partners with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, safety, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction through the application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
The incumbent will facilitate improvement projects, develop performance metrics, build problem-solving capability within the organization, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the Company's Continuous Improvement strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Identify improvement opportunities through operational performance analysis.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, improvement workshops, and structured problem-solving sessions.
- Develop annual Continuous Improvement roadmaps in collaboration with department leaders.
- Analyse manufacturing processes to identify waste, variation, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.
- Lead all internal monthly stock counts and investigate variances with the Production team.
- Ensure targets met for monthly raw material and FG stock counts for Moulding department.
- Lead projects to improve productivity, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
- Standardize best practices across operations.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work documentation.
- Recommend process automation and digital improvement opportunities where appropriate.
- Conduct Lean audits and monitor sustainability of improvements.
- Support Quality Improvement initiatives to reduce customer complaints, internal rejects, scrap, and rework.
- Assist with Root Cause Analysis as required
- Present findings and recommendations to management.
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely completion of improvement actions.
- Monitor project milestones and report progress to leadership.
- Monitor adoption and sustainability of implemented initiatives.
- To comply with the Company’s/ Department’s procedures and policies belonging to the Quality Management System and the Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
- To fulfil the legal duties of the Occupational Safety & Health Act 2004 as an employee
- Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- B.Sc. in the Engineering field.
- 3–5 years' experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing.
- Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
- Experience analysing operational data and implementing process improvements.
