SUMMARY OF JOB
The Accounting Assistant -Accounts Payables is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing, recording, and payment of all vendor invoices. The role supports the integrity of financial records, maintains strong vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and reconcile Group Creditors balances monthly and obtain confirmations by the 2nd working day.
- Monitor and clear Goods Receipt Not Invoiced (GRNI) balances daily.
- Prepare and submit local payments through bank instructions and ensure proper documentation filing
- Liaise with suppliers and external contractors to resolve payment or invoice issues
- Process petty cash reimbursements and staff-related expense claims including travel and airline reservations promptly.
- Process invoices related to import/export transactions, including freight, customs duties, and brokerage fees
- Review and validate EXIM documentation (Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, customs entries)
- Prepare and execute foreign currency payments and wire transfers. (EXIM/AMBL/AML/RBL)
- Issue customs payments for imports in a timely manner.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the Finance Unit as required
- Maintain accurate and organized filing of all supporting documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Chief Financial Officer.
- Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies
- Assist in closure of all AP modules in all Entity, BAL, ACL, ABS and ABSGI
- Ensure full compliance with Company policies and procedures, including Ansa McAL Group standards
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
