  1. OBJECTIVES AND GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

SUMMARY OF JOB

Lead and coordinate all automation, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance activities in alignment with ANSA McAL Group policies, HSSE standards, Quality standards and preventive maintenance plans to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant systems.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure high plant reliability and minimal downtime.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate E&I Technicians to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in automation, electrical, and instrumentation systems to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, Group HSSE standards, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risk and safeguard personnel and assets.
  • Oversee calibration and tuning of instruments and control loops to ensure accurate process monitoring and control.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to implement control system upgrades and reliability improvements.
  • Monitor and update maintenance work orders, PMs, and equipment history in the CMMS to maintain accurate maintenance data.
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment downtime and implement preventive maintenance actions to minimize or eliminate recurrence.
  • Contribute to maintenance budgeting and planning for electrical and automation systems to ensure cost-effective resource use.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors performing electrical and automation works to ensure quality and adherence to technical standards.
  • Support plant turnaround (TAR) and shutdown planning by providing input on electrical and instrumentation scopes.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of certificates for electrical systems to maintain compliance with Company’s quality standards.
  • Identify and recommend automation improvements or energy efficiency initiatives to enhance operational performance.

Formal Education:

B.Sc. Degree in an Engineering field (from a recognized, accredited institution).

Previous Experience:

At least five (5) years of engineering experience, of which at least eighteen (18) months should be in a supervisory role.
