We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Associate to support the delivery of accurate financial reporting and ensure the effective execution of key accounting processes. The successful candidate will play an important role in the month-end close process, financial analysis, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls while supporting the development of junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support the month-end close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
- Review accounting transactions and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and support to junior accounting team members, helping to ensure the timely completion of assigned activities.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation, disposals, revaluations, and related reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies within the general ledger and supporting accounts.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, inventory costs, and revenue trends, identifying issues and supporting cost-control initiatives.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses to support operational and management decision-making.
- Prepare and submit VAT/GCT and other statutory returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Review inventory valuation and cost of production calculations to support accurate financial reporting.
- Support cash flow reporting, vendor payment processing, and other finance operations as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and undertake other duties as required to support the Finance Department.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing Level 3 ACCA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification at a minimum.
- A minimum of four (4) years' experience in a similar accounting role.
- Experience with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
- Exposure to inventory accounting, costing, and manufacturing operations would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
